Education
I attended Brown University, where I received a Bachelors Degree in Psychology in 1992. I completed my Masters in Social Work at Boston University in 1994.
Experience
I've been a practicing therapist since graduation, working in a variety of settings including lead counselor for adoptive families and birth parents in an infant adoption program, child and family therapist in a community mental health clinic, case manager and supervisor at a managed care company, and therapist in a group private practice. I opened my current practice in August 2007.
Additional Training
I completed first level EMDR training in August of 2008 and advanced level training in February 2009. I have completed the required additional 10 hours of supervision by an EMDR-certified consultant necessary to be considered a fully trained EMDR therapist. In 2014, I participated in 12 additional hours of training on working with EMDR with children. In 2018, I received 6 more hours of training in the newest EMDR technique, Flash EMDR. I take 40 hours of Continuing Education every 2 years on a variety of subjects relevant to my areas of expertise.
